I would encourage you to unlearn everything you were ever told about breakfast.  “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day” was a marketing campaign launched by cereal manufacturers to promote eating sugary foods for “energy”.  Fact.

I start each morning with a glass of warm water with the juice of half a lemon, and thirty minutes later, I will have a glass of celery juice.

Only if I am hungry, do I have breakfast, and its usually one of these options:

  1. Scrambled eggs with half an avo and mushrooms
  2. Two boiled eggs with grilled tomato
  3. Overnight breakfast cereal with full fat plain Greek yoghurt
  4. Keto / Banting toast with Tuna melt / or Portabello mushrooms with tuna melt
  5. Two egg omelette with bacon bits, spinach and feta cheese
  6. Full fat plain Greek yoghurt with a handful of berries, and sweetener to taste.  Have a boiled egg afterwards if still hungry
  7. Keto / Banting bread toasted and topped with roasted cherry tomatoes, mushrooms and finished with cheese melted under the grill.
  8. Homemade grain free granola with berries and full fat plain Greek yoghurt

2 Boiled eggs with grilled tomato and mushrooms.

One glass of water with lemon tea or coffee
Scrambled eggs or omelette with sliced left over sausages and tomato.

One glass of water with lemon tea or coffee
Plain yoghurt with sweetener to taste and handful of blueberries, sunflower seeds and chai seeds (sprinkled with cinnamon) – 1 boiled egg (if you are still hungry)

One glass of water with lemon tea or coffee
Portabello mushrooms topped with pilchards (or tuna) and melted cheese under the grill.

One glass of water with lemon tea or coffee
Bacon and Avo grilled tomatoes and spinach.

One glass of water with lemon tea or coffee

Tips:

  • Always have a glass of water with lemon first thing in the morning.  Remember, you have been asleep for the past 6-8 hours with no fluids, so your body is slightly dehydrated.  A glass of water first thing in the morning helps to hydrate the body.
  • If you feel your breakfast is not enough to sustain you (sometimes just fruit and yoghurt has that effect), then simply have a hard boiled egg.
  • If you’re not hungry, dont eat.
