I am Theresa. I live in Botswana, Africa.
Just six months ago, my average blood sugar level was 8.9 mmol/L, prompting concerns from my doctor about the risk of T2 diabetes. At the time, my weight had ballooned was 106kg. Medication was recommended, but I felt compelled to explore alternative approaches to managing my health.
Discovering Linda’s Diabetes Warriors community was a turning point.
I learned from the Group how diet and lifestyle can change everything about Type2 diabetes, and I was adamant that is what I wanted to do.
I committed to daily walks and a low-carb diet, noticing a swift improvement in my blood sugar levels. Encouraged by these changes, I started with more rigorous physical activities, including a local boot camp, and set up a dedicated workout space at home.
The Diabetes Warriors provided invaluable support, offering practical advice and a platform for sharing experiences and insights that complemented my journey to better health. We share our fasting blood sugar every day, and it’s interesting to see how these numbers correspond with what we eat and when. Linda has shared meal plans and recipes which have been a great help in my weightloss regime.
I continue to have my medical checkups regularly, and at my last appointment I was told that I have successfully reversed the signs of Type 2 diabetes. Additionally, I managed to shed 20kg, reaching a weight of 85kg and continuing my progress.
To those facing similar challenges, my advice is simple: be patient and invest in yourself. Taking control of your health can lead to empowering outcomes.
Be strong. Stay consistent. Stay determined. Your got this!
